He dropped his bag and mumbled an apology. She stirred lightly. He smiled wickedly, waited a few minutes and dropped the bag from a greater height. That should do it!
“Sorry, darling. I hope I didn't wake you.”
“Just f**k off!”
“Yes, yes…err, okay, yes, dear.”
He, he, ha, ha! He could just picture her complaining to her mother of his doltish behavior at that surreal hour.
